Organizational Profile

The activities and services of UWSP are accomplished through its dedicated volunteers that form the Working Groups and Special Committees.
Working Groups
Operating under the UWSP umbrella are many working groups catering to particular areas of interest within the realm of sustainability. Working groups were all created as student initiatives and are sustained by student volunteers. Some Working Groups are more focused on awareness while others facilitate workshops to teach sustainability in a hands-on manner. Regardless, all Working Groups strive to initiative long-lasting change both on campus and in the minds of students as they graduate and move into full-time careers.

Special Committees
Special Committees are student groups dedicated to specific events or initiatives. Events and activities are typically more time-sensitive as event deadlines must be met. There are both long term and short term volunteering positions available - you may choose to assist with event planning early on in the process or act as a "day-of" volunteer. Special Committees were created with the intention of providing more flexibility in volunteering options with UWSP.

Executive Board
The Executive Board is an overseeing body that observes current practices and identifies areas for improvement. The Board strives to develop new partnerships between UWSP bodies and with exterior student groups. The Executive Board consists of all UWSP executives, including the Coordinators, Working Group Directors, Special Committee Directors, and Administrative Directors.

Advisory Committee
Developing new ideas with the help of external parties is a priority for UWSP. UWSP will seek local business owners, politicians, sustainability officers, and other stakeholders in the global effort towards a sustainable culture.
Coordinators
The Coordinators are also primarily responsible for orchestrating operations and developing strategic planning in accordance with the UWSP mandate. Typically the coordinators chair the Executive Board and the Advisory Committee. Coordinators are selected by the FEDS VP Internal through an application process.
